Virtual meetings are here to stay, and while they provide convenience, they also pose certain challenges. Among these challenges are managing different technologies, recognition of members, voting, and how to deal with non-members entering and observing a meeting (as well as sometimes interrupting). Daniel Ivey-Soto, JD, PRP, works for local governments on governance, process, and legal matters. He has served a variety of positions with the National Association of Parliamentarians, including National Legal Liaison, Board Member, District Director, member of the Bylaws Revision Committee, and Trustee of its Educational Foundation. In New Mexico, Daniel is Vice President of the New Mexico State Association of Parliamentarians, as well as a Past President of both NMSAP and the Albuquerque Parliamentary Unit.
