The motion to Lay on the Table is shrouded in confusion and is often the subject of misuse by those attempting to ‘kill a motion’ and by other members unfamiliar with the proper use of the motion. This presentation will explain the purpose and effect of Lay on the Table and Take from the Table.
Lavon Moore, PRP has been an avid member of the National Association of Parliamentarians for 20+ years and holds the designation of Professional Registered Parliamentarian. She serves as District Three Director of the National Association of Parliamentarians and is a board member of NAP. She is the immediate past president of the South Carolina Association of Parliamentarians, having served five years in that role. She is also a member of the American Institute of Parliamentarians (AIP).
Lavon is a Life member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and is the executive director of a non-profit, Clear View Simpson Heritage Foundation.
